Job summary

Definitive Electrical Services is seeking a Purchasing Manager responsible for end-to-end purchasing across two warehouses. You will work closely with the Warehouse Officer to ensure materials are ordered, priced correctly, and available when electricians need them.

Simpro experience is highly valued. The role is based at our southside warehouse with 1–2 days per week at our Narangba office, offering real ownership of purchasing and a supportive team culture within a growing electrical

Qualifications

• Purchasing, procurement or stock control experience.
• Simpro experience is a big advantage.

• Organised and accurate with purchase orders and stock counts.

Responsibilities

• Handle all ordering from external suppliers for multiple jobs and warehouses.
• Liaise with suppliers on pricing and securing best deals.
• Take and place internal material orders from electricians and apprentices.
• Raise and manage purchase orders in Simpro.
• Run end-of-month stocktakes across warehouses and report material value.
• Work with Warehouse Officer to maintain stock levels and timely deliveries.

About us

Definitive Electrical is a residential electrical contractor wiring new homes for some of South East Queensland's biggest volume builders. We run two warehouses - one on the southside and one at Narangba - keeping our crews stocked and on site across Brisbane, Logan and Moreton Bay. We're a tight team that backs our people, invests in training, and gets things done without the drama.

The role

We're looking for a Purchasing Manager to take ownership of all purchasing across both warehouses. You'll work side by side with our Warehouse Officer - the two of you are the purchasing team - making sure the right materials are ordered, priced right and on hand when our sparkies need them.

Would suit people with warehousing & purchasing experience from the electrical wholesalers

Day to day you'll be:

Handling all ordering from our external suppliers, including quantity orders for upcoming jobs

Liaising with suppliers on pricing structures and making sure we're getting the best deal

Taking and placing internal material orders from our electricians and apprentices

Raising and managing purchase orders in Simpro

Running the end-of-month stocktake across both warehouses and reporting the end-of-month materials value

Working with the Warehouse Officer to keep stock levels, deliveries and job kits running smoothly

Building solid working relationships with our suppliers and our team on the tools

You'll be based at our southside warehouse, with 1-2 days a week at our Narangba office.

About you

Purchasing, procurement or stock control experience - ideally in electrical, trades or construction supply

Simpro experience is a big advantage, or you've used a similar job management / purchasing system and pick things up fast

Personable - you'll be dealing with suppliers, tradies and office staff all day and need to get along with all of them

Able to prioritise - multiple crews, multiple jobs, multiple suppliers, and it all needs to land in the right order

A team player who works well alongside others and communicates clearly

Organised and accurate - purchase orders, pricing and stock counts need to be right

Knowledge of electrical materials is a bonus, but not essential if you have the purchasing background
