Qualifications

• Dewatering competency and experience preferred.
• Chainsaw and polywelding tickets required or preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment is advantageous.
• Rigging license is desirable.
• SSE signed training transcripts preferred.
• Current valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessment and inspections of dewatering pumps.
• Complete welding and installation of HDPE pipelines.
• Complete service records accurately and on time.
• Perform basic maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with statutory legislation.
• Carry out dewatering duties in active mining environments.
• Follow safe work practices and site procedures.

The opportunity

Thiess is seeking experienced Pump Crew Operators to join our high-performing team at the Eva Copper Mine Project, in the Cloncurry region of Queensland, Australia.

Set to become the largest copper mine in Northwest Queensland, the Eva Copper Mine is an iron oxide copper gold resource located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People, approximately 75km north of Cloncurry and 95km north-east of Mount Isa.

About the Candidate

• Hold Dewatering competency and experience (desired)
• Hold Chainsaw Ticket, Polywelding Ticket and experience in Polywelding (desired)
• Have experience/qualifications for operation of D10/D11 dozers, excavator or front-end loader (an advantage)
• Basic or intermediate rigging license (desired)
• SSE signed training transcripts
• Current Drivers Licence
• A commitment to a positive safety culture
