Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking a dedicated Public Facilities Cleaner to maintain beaches, playgrounds, parks and public spaces across multiple sites in our city. This permanent full-time role involves hands-on cleaning work, operating small cleaning plant, and delivering high-quality results on a rotating schedule.

You will work independently and with a team, following safety procedures and environment controls, ensuring excellent customer service for residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsupervised within established maintenance timelines.
• Strong frontline customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Practical understanding of safety, quality and environmental controls for public facilities.
• Experience using cleaning chemicals and plant equipment (high-pressure cleaners, ride-on vacuums, paint sprayers, electric sanders).

Responsibilities

• Clean a broad range of public facilities including paths, BBQs, bus shelters, beaches and playgrounds.
• Operate small cleaning plant in line with policies and safety procedures.
• Work with minimal supervision across a rotating schedule.
• Maintain high standards and comply with WHS and environmental controls.
• Travel and work across multiple council sites as required.
