Job summary

Department of Government Services VIC invites a seasoned Chief Financial Officer to lead the department's financial management, budgeting and statutory reporting. The CFO will ensure compliance with the Financial Management Act 1994 and Standing Directions, serving as the principal advisor on financial matters to Ministers, the Secretary and the Executive Board.

The role requires extensive executive leadership across the public sector, the ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder environments

Qualifications

Extensive finance and executive leadership experience across public/private sectors with demonstrable public sector financial management.
Experience leading budget strategy and advising on financial sustainability in complex environments.
Detailed knowledge of financial management acts, directives and Australian accounting standards; signing statutory statements.

Responsibilities

Lead budget strategy and financial management for the department.
Sign off statutory accounts and ensure compliance with the Financial Management Act 1994 and Standing Directions 2018.
Provide advice to Ministers, the Secretary and the Executive Board on financial matters.
Model leadership, drive financial performance and steward shared services with accountability for service levels.
