Job summary

The University of Melbourne is seeking a Manager, Public Health Programs in Parkville to lead genomics programmes with Australian CDC and state health departments, coordinating across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

You will manage flagship public health programmes across MDU PHL and the Centre for Pathogen Genomics, coordinating AusPathoGen, CDGN and related networks to embed pathogen genomics into national surveillance and response.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in public health or related discipline.
• Experience delivering large public health projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to build and sustain relationships with government agencies and public health networks.
• Strong planning, governance, reporting and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of public health initiatives with workplans and governance.
• Manage relationships with Australian CDC, and state health departments and funding bodies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects and produce high-quality outputs.
• Oversee funding agreements, reporting, evaluation, budgeting and communication requirements.
• Support grant applications and supervision of project management staff.
