Job summary

The Capricornia Offender Health Service within the Queensland Government is seeking a Registered Nurse to assess, screen and treat prisoners with communicable diseases, and to coordinate immunisations and disease surveillance in a correctional setting.

You will lead nursing staff, monitor health data and contribute to outbreak control, with collaboration across specialist services to support prisoners moving back into the community.

Qualifications

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
Postgraduate qualifications in public health nursing and communicable diseases are highly regarded.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and networking skills; teamwork and quality improvement focus.

Responsibilities

Provide assessment, screening, treatment and support for prisoners with communicable diseases.
Coordinate immunisations, disease surveillance and health education.
Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff.
Monitor disease trends and support outbreak response and disease control planning.
Collaborate with specialist health services and community agencies.
