Job summary
Capricornia Offender Health Service, part of Queensland Health, is seeking a Clinical Nurse (Communicable Disease Control) to provide assessment, screening and treatment for prisoners with communicable diseases, and to coordinate immunisations and disease surveillance.
This 6-month backfill role offers negotiable hours, locality and laundry allowances, and a total remuneration package including superannuation.
Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of public health, immunisation and outbreak control.
- Experience in correctional or secure settings is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, screening, and treatment for prisoners with communicable diseases.
- Coordinate immunisations and disease surveillance for at-risk prisoners.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff.
- Monitor disease trends and assist outbreak response planning.
- Collaborate with health services and community agencies for continuity of care.
