Job summary

The University of Melbourne is seeking a Senior Project Officer to coordinate pathogen genomics platform deployments within the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. You will work across the Centre for Pathogen Genomics and the Microbiological Diagnostic Unit Public Health Laboratory to enable real-time genomic insights for public health decision making.

Qualifications

Hold a tertiary qualification in IT, data science, public health or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in managing complex IT projects, products or implementations.
Experience with information systems, digital platforms or data-driven public health programmes.
Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate platform deployments enabling real-time pathogen genomics for public health decisions.
Develop and manage implementation plans, timelines and resources for platform adoption.
Coordinate stakeholder onboarding, training and user acceptance testing to ensure readiness.
Monitor project progress, risks, issues and report outcomes and KPIs.
Liaise between technical teams and end users, capturing feedback for continuous improvement.
