We’re on the lookout for a passionate Public Affairs & Communications Manager to help us tell our story, protect our reputation, and drive advocacy from the inside out.
This is a unique opportunity to work within our high-performing Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability (PACS) function which is responsible for the strategy, framework and tools required to shape and safeguard the organisation’s corporate reputation in a way that effectively manages risks and creates value for the company. This is achieved through anticipating and managing emerging issues, engaging with internal and external stakeholders effectively, appropriately positioning our corporate brand and delivering strategic communications that support business needs and outcomes.
This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis, with hybrid working arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver integrated public affairs and communications strategies that support business goals and enhance our reputation.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders, government, industry bodies, media, and community stakeholders.
- Collaborate with communications colleagues to ensure consistent delivery of high quality, engaging drumbeat content across core corporate communications channels.
- Support preparation of submissions and written advocacy to advance CCEP’s public affairs agenda.
- Play a key role in managing issues and crises, including proactively escalating potential media or reputational issues, and developing materials such as reactive statements.
- Work closely with PACS colleagues across Australia, the APS region, and Europe, as well as with representatives from our major brand partners: The Coca-Cola Company, Monster Energy Company and Bacardi-Martini Australia.
Qualifications
- 7+ years’ experience in communications, public affairs, or corporate affairs – you’re comfortable navigating complex, fast-moving stakeholder environments.
- Natural storytelling capability – you’re savvy with multi-channel communications and know how to bring to a story to life visually, not just with words.
- A strong background in media relations, and ideally government relations too.
- Confidence working independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Experience with media monitoring tools, social platforms, and content creation tools.
- A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Public Policy, Law, Economics or related fields – this is essential.
