Job summary

JDA Collective is hiring a Chef/Cook (Grade 3-5) for Mermaid Beach Tavern on the Gold Coast. You will work under the Head Chef to prepare and present top-quality pub dishes in a high-turnover kitchen. The role is permanent and requires nights and weekend rosters.

Ideal candidates are trade-qualified with Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, at least 3 years post-qualification experience, and a passion for great food in a busy hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Must be trade qualified and hold certification in Commercial Cookery (Certificate III minimum or equivalent).
• Minimum three years post-qualification experience.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Attention to plating and presentation details.
• Creative and passionate about food with high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, plate and present high-standard pub dishes.
• Keep kitchen stations organised and clean.
• Maintain stock levels and assist with ordering.
• Ensure Mermaid Beach Tavern maintains high culinary standards.
• Mentor junior team members and support Head Chef.
