Job summary

ALS Coal in Mayfield NSW is seeking a Casual PTL Technician to join our site on a rotating day, afternoon and night shift. The role involves handling and processing coal samples, performing tests, and recording results in our reporting system.

We value safety, quality and teamwork, and offer full training. Applicants must have a valid driver license and rights to work in Australia. Flexibility for weekend work is required, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers license.
• Current rights to work in Australia (visa, permanent resident or citizen).
• Strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to organise work, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting.
• Flexibility and able to perform shift work and weekend work as required.
• Previous coal sampling experience would be an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Handling coal samples and processing them according to instructions and current best methods.
• Loading and unloading coal samples from various plant streams.
• A range of physical tests including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing and sample storage.
• Transfer validated results into the reporting system.
• Calibration and maintenance of specialised equipment.
• Ensure all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

Optional overtime is available through busy periods.
