Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice – Queanbeyan NSW is seeking an experienced psychologist to join the Southern NSW District Psychology team. You will provide trauma‑informed psychological assessment, therapeutic interventions and other professional services to DCJ client groups including children, young people, families and carers.

Qualifications

• Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Psychology recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia, with either Full registration or provisional registration.
• Experience: Clinical experience with child abuse, neglect and trauma; preferred work with children/adolescents; knowledge of trauma frameworks.
• Driver's Licence: willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

As part of the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), you'll play a key role in delivering trauma‑informed therapeutic care to vulnerable children, young people, families, and carers, supporting them to navigate the impacts of trauma, loss, and placement transitions.

As part of the Psychological and Specialist Services team, you will work to deliver psychological assessment, therapeutic interventions and other professional services to DCJ client groups including children, young people, families and carers.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate psychologist or provisional psychologist to join the Southern NSW District Psychology team with the following:

• Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Psychology recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia, with either:
• Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, or
• Provisional registration with an ability to fulfil full registration within the relevant timeframes.
• Experience: Clinical experience working with and knowledge of therapeutic frameworks for child abuse, neglect and trauma. Prior experience working with children and adolescents is preferred. Or Knowledge of therapeutic frameworks for child abuse, neglect, and trauma.
• Driver's Licence: willingness to travel as required.
