Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience in power system operations and use of Power System and Market Analysis applications.
• Strong understanding of National Electricity Market operations.
• Knowledge of the function and vulnerability of major Interconnected National Electricity System components.
• Strong understanding of the role the Control Room in the Operations Power System.

Responsibilities

• Assist uplift of the NEM Simulator as a key control system for AEMO’s risk management.
• Support the development and delivery of training and assessment scenarios, utilising NEM simulator and other interactive training applications or techniques.
• Assist in the planning, design and creation of training scenarios in the NEM simulator through altering market system data and manipulating the power system configuration for the purpose of maintaining and developing control room staff competency to perform the real time Dispatch, Voltage and Security functions for the designated regions of responsibility in accordance with established procedures and standards.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of training documentation for the operation of the NEM simulator.
• Assist in process to implement new or upgraded control room systems and tools in the DTS environment for the purpose of training and familiarisation, prior to going live in the control room.
