  • Understanding of research methodology or research experience and willingness to undertake research proposals and involvement in Neurological research
  • Current unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence

Responsibilities

Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) is a principal tertiary referral hospital within Northern Sydney Local Health District, delivering a comprehensive range of complex and highly specialised healthcare services to patients across Northern Sydney and New South Wales.

Renowned for its excellence in clinical care, education and research, RNSH has a long and proud history of providing world-class healthcare while supporting the training and development of future healthcare professionals. The hospital offers a broad range of specialist services, including major trauma, severe burns, spinal cord injury management, neonatal intensive care, bone marrow transplantation, neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology. These services are complemented by comprehensive acute medical, surgical, mental health, paediatric, cancer and maternity care programs.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide effective clinical management of patients admitted to the Neurology service under the supervision of the consultant Neurologist/neurophysiologist, whilst developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care. The fellowship will support an early career in clinical and research of Neurological disorders with extensive exposure to practical training in therapeutic intervention with botulinum toxin.

  • Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals
  • Demonstrated sufficient research achievement AND a willingness to pursue a higher degree (MPhil or PhD)
  • Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, and willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff
  • Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal and previous involvement in Neurological research.
  • Current unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
