Placing Heads in Melton, VIC is seeking a hands-on Production Assistant to join the Printing & Embroidery team. You’ll run and coordinate in-house embroidery and garment printing, bringing client designs to life on a range of branded apparel.

This full-time, on-site role welcomes candidates with sewing or textile experience, a keen eye for detail, good hand‑eye coordination, and a proactive team spirit. Training on commercial machinery is provided, with a supportive environment and opportunities

Qualifications

• Prior experience or personal exposure to sewing, textiles, dressmaking, or craft hobbies is highly regarded.
• A strong eye for alignment, color accuracy, and overall product quality.
• Comfortable working with physical tools, machinery, and various fabric types.
• Reliable, proactive, and happy to roll up your sleeves in a busy production environment.
• Takes pride in delivering neat, high-quality work on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Embroidery & Printing Setup: Prepare, set up, and operate commercial embroidery machines and garment printing equipment.
• Garment Handling & Framing: Hoop, frame, and align garments with precision to ensure accurate logo placement.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished goods for stitching quality, thread tension, color accuracy, and defects before final packing.
• Finishing & Trimming: Clean up excess threads, trim backings, heat-press, and pack orders neatly for client dispatch.
• Inventory & Maintenance: Monitor stock levels for threads, backings, and inks, and carry out basic daily machine care and routine maintenance.
