Australian Department of Defence in Laverton North, VIC, is seeking an experienced Boilermaker or Sheet Metal Fabricator for prototype fabrication using MIG/TIG/Arc welding and sheet metal techniques. You will turn concept drawings and CAD models into physical prototypes and space claims.

Based in the Prototype Engineering Centre, you will use CNC routers, press brakes, and waterjet cutters, collaborating in a small multi-disciplinary team while adhering to Defence safety and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Boilermaker, Welder or Sheet Metal Fabricator.
• Experience with MIG, TIG and Arc welding.
• Able to interpret CAD drawings and CAD models.
• Familiar with CNC machinery and NC/CNC processes.
• Ability to work safely in a Defence environment with PPE.

Responsabilités

• Fabricate prototypes from drawings to delivery using CNC equipment.
• Work with NC/CNC processes and various fabrication techniques.
• Operate CNC routers, press brakes and waterjet cutters.
• Collaborate with a small, multi-disciplinary team to produce diverse prototypes.
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of space claims and models.
