Job summary

Value NSW (VNSW) seeks a Property Data Officer to maintain and verify the Register of Land Values, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with statutory obligations. You will work within the Property Data team to process information, maintain records, and support decision-making across Value NSW.

The role offers a hybrid work model with location flexibility across NSW, a salary range of AU$87,199–AU$95,482 plus super, and a focus on data quality and service delivery.

In this role

You'll play an important role in maintaining the Register of Land Values, ensuring property information is accurate, complete and up to date. Working as part of the Property Data team, you'll process and verify property information, maintain records and help ensure statutory obligations and service commitments are met.

About you

We're looking for someone who can:

• Work accurately and efficiently when processing large volumes of information.
• Analyse source documents and identify discrepancies or data quality issues.
• Maintain detailed records and follow established procedures and legislative requirements.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve service and business outcomes.
• Use systems and technology confidently to manage and maintain data.

Desirable knowledge

• Working knowledge of Register of Land Values maintenance, valuation systems and computer operations.
• Understanding of relevant legislation and its application within property data processes.

About us

Value NSW (VNSW), part of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, delivers the valuation system for rating and taxing as well as compulsory acquisition compensation purposes via delegation of the Valuer General of NSW. This includes but is not limited to:

Making more than 2.7 million residential, rural, commercial and industrial valuations annually, with a total value of approximately $3 trillion as well as managing compulsory acquisition determinations in situations where government cannot reach agreement, totalling over $1 billion per annum

Delivering customer services and experience for 2.7 million landholders per annum - receiving up to 50,000 calls and many more enquiries

Monitoring, assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the Valuation of Land Act 1916 and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.

In addition, VNSW provides other specialised valuation activities, services and determinations for other cluster or statewide government partners - including being responsible for the delivery of all valuations for government property transactions as defined by the Government Property Framework and Treasurer’s Directions as well as more than $84 billion in government asset valuations for financial accounting purposes.
