Project Support Officer - Scheduler and Governance Adelaide

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Project Support Officer in Canberra to work on a Submarine project.

What You’ll Do

• Provide strategic schedule reporting and analysis for the Technical Division.
• Coordinate and maintain supporting schedule documentation.
• Support governance reporting through weekly status updates, financial tracking, and milestone progress.
• Maintain and monitor project registers (risks, issues, actions), contributing to risk mitigation planning and resolution.
• Conduct regular schedule health checks and impact analysis on the Technical Capability schedule.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven ability to manage detailed project schedules, resource plans, and reporting tools to support milestone delivery.
• Strong coordination skills across workforce planning, task tracking, and issue resolution in dynamic environments.
• Experience maintaining project registers and supporting risk mitigation strategies to ensure delivery continuity.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and communication across internal teams and external partners.
• Familiarity with Defence or infrastructure programs, with proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and governance reporting.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
