Job description

Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the iconic Snowy Hydro-electric Scheme, gas and diesel electricity generating plants, and contracted wind and solar energy in the National Electricity Market. We also provide electricity and gas to over 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.

Snowy 2.0, currently under construction, is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

About the position:

Are you ready to make your mark on one of the largest renewable energy projects in the Southern Hemisphere? We are looking for an experienced Project Planner to join the Snowy 2.0 team on a 4-year fixed-term contract.

In this pivotal on-site role, you will be instrumental in driving programme management, monitoring ongoing works, and navigating complex interfaces between contractors and major work packages. If you thrive on mega-infrastructure projects and want to help power Australia's renewable future, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Management: Assist in developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed programmes for owner teams and support projects.

Risk & Scenario Analysis: Identify key risks, propose mitigation strategies, and develop what-if scenarios using tools like Primavera P6 and ALICE.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for the owner's team, interfacing with contractors (such as FGJV and Voith) and subcontractors during site and construction meetings.

Performance Tracking: Develop, maintain, and report on key KPIs, lookahead programmes, and earned value analysis.

Claims & Variations: Support the team in analyzing and responding to delay and disruption claims from a planning and commercial perspective.

About the location:

This role is located at our Lobs Hole site working a 14/7 FIFO roster. Standard camp amenities apply.

About you:

Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Construction or Engineering.

Experience: Previous experience in Project Planning on mega construction projects with multidisciplinary interdependencies and complex interfaces. (Hydropower experience highly regarded)

Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Primavera P6, Power BI, and exposure to AI-enabled planning/scheduling packages (such as Acumen 360 and 4D scheduling).

Commercial Acumen: A solid understanding of Cost and Earned Value management, construction data structures, and digital reporting systems.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities, with a proven capability to deliver under pressure in a multi-cultural, on-site team environment.

About our workforce:
