Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) invites applications for a Project Officer Planning and Approvals Framework Design. The role supports the design development of operational and tactical planning to move to an integrated forest and fire management approach.

Based in Victoria with hybrid work options, the position is fixed term for 12 months at 0.60 FTE. Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter; reference the Position Description's mandatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in public policy, natural resource or environmental management is desirable.
• Experience in compliance environment, program planning and/or operations related to forest/fire management, biodiversity, cultural/historic heritage or strategic/statutory planning is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop planning processes for integrated forest and fire management planning.
• Contribute to planning reform within the Forest and Fire Operation Division.
• Build relationships across Bushfire and Forest Services and influence teams to adopt planning improvements.
• Work within the Planning and Approvals Framework Team in the Planning and Authorisations (P&A) Branch.
