Job summary

Maverick Systems is seeking a capable Project Officer / Project Engineer to support the delivery of energy and battery storage projects in Australia. You will work closely with the Managing Director, initially coordinating day-to-day project delivery for an established portfolio of battery storage projects, with potential progression into greater ownership of work packages and project management.

Qualifications

• Engineering or technical background.
• 1–5 years of professional experience.
• Exposure to power, renewables, BESS, electrical engineering, utilities or similar environments.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence communicating with engineers, suppliers and clients.
• Good written communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow tasks through to completion.
• Proactive, practical attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintain actions, schedules, trackers and deliverable registers.
• Follow up actions with engineers, suppliers, clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, progress updates and project reporting.
• Coordinate technical documentation, reviews, submissions and approvals.
• Assist with programme, risk, issue and change tracking.
• Coordinate meetings and internal resources.
• Support procurement, manufacturing, delivery and commissioning activities.
• Assist with technical investigations and engineering coordination.
• Identify upcoming constraints, overdue actions and project risks.
• Progressively take ownership of defined work packages.

Maverick Systems is looking for a capable and motivated Project Officer / Project Engineer to support the delivery of energy and battery storage projects. This role will work closely with Maverick's Managing Director, initially supporting the day-to-day coordination and delivery of an established portfolio of battery energy storage projects. The immediate focus is practical project support - keeping projects organised, actions moving, information flowing and deliverables on track. For the right person, the role is intended to progressively develop into greater ownership of work packages and ultimately project management responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain project actions, schedules, trackers and deliverable registers.
• Follow up actions with engineers, suppliers, clients and other stakeholders.
• Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, progress updates and project reporting.
• Coordinate technical documentation, reviews, submissions and approvals.
• Assist with programme, risk, issue and change tracking.
• Coordinate meetings, suppliers and internal engineering resources.
• Support procurement, manufacturing, delivery and commissioning activities where required.
• Assist with technical investigations and engineering coordination.
• Identify upcoming constraints, overdue actions and project risks before they become issues.
• Progressively take ownership of defined work packages and smaller projects.

About you

• An engineering, project management or other relevant technical background.
• Approximately 1-5 years of professional experience.
• Exposure to power, renewables, BESS, electrical engineering, utilities, industrial projects or similar technical environments.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence communicating with engineers, suppliers and clients.
• Good written communication and documentation skills.
• Competence with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Teams.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and follow tasks through to completion.
• A practical, proactive attitude - someone comfortable picking up the phone, chasing an answer and getting things moving.
