Coroners Court of Victoria's Coroners Prevention Unit (CPU) seeks a Project Officer, Data and Analytics to support death surveillance databases such as the Victorian Suicide Register and to help inform coronial investigations and publications.
The role focuses on reviewing materials, coding information, and collating case data, requiring strong data-entry skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency with databases and related software.

The Coroners Prevention Unit (CPU) is a service established to assist coroners in identifying opportunities to strengthen public health and safety through well‑researched, evidence‑based recommendations.
It is the only multidisciplinary team of its kind in Australia, comprising specialist staff who work to identify any potential failures and other factors that contributed to the incident.
Coroners can refer matters to the CPU at any point during an investigation. Additionally, the CPU undertakes both individual and collaborative research projects to support coronial investigations, underpinning a better understanding of preventable deaths in Victoria.
The CPU maintains a number of databases which store detailed information on reportable deaths that are investigated by coroners, including the Victorian Suicide Register. This information is used to inform coroners' investigations and contribute to relevant publications. It is also requested by external bodies to assist in the planning and evaluation of death prevention initiatives.
