Job summary

Australian Infrastructure Projects Group – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to own major vegetation clearance and civil works programs for utilities and infrastructure clients. You will lead field teams, manage budgets, and report progress to clients and senior leadership while ensuring safety and quality on site.

Your role includes coordinating approvals, managing subcontractors, and maintaining schedules across regional and remote locations in Australia.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ project delivery experience in civil, utilities or vegetation works.
• Proven ability to build, manage and recover project programs.
• Strong budget management—cost control, forecasting, variations and reporting.
• Solid understanding of utility environments (overhead and underground) and safety compliance.
• Project Management qualifications and/or strong industry experience.
• Current Driver’s Licence.
• 4x4 or off-road driving experience.

• Set up and control project budgets, including cost tracking, forecasting, variations and progress claims.
• Report on program, cost and productivity to clients and senior leadership.
• Manage projects end to end, from tender award and mobilisation through to completion and handover.
• Lead subcontractors and site teams to deliver safe, compliant and productive works.
• Coordinate approvals with utilities, engineers, and environmental and cultural heritage consultants, and manage quality, WHS, environmental risk and project documentation.

Australian Infrastructure Projects Group – Sydney CBD NSW

Take full ownership of major vegetation clearance and civil works projects for leading utility and infrastructure clients. You’ll take ownership of large-scale vegetation clearance and civil works projects for major utility and infrastructure clients – setting the program, controlling the cost and making sure the work is delivered safely, on time and on budget.

Day to day, you’ll lead multiple field teams and subcontractors, track progress against program and forecast, manage variations, and report clearly to clients and senior leadership. Our current project is in the Mudgee NSW region, with future work spanning regional and remote locations across Australia.

About You

You’re a hands-on Project Manager with a track record of delivering civil, utilities or vegetation projects on program and on budget. You’re confident on site, comfortable leading teams and contractors, and able to adjust the plan when conditions change. Most importantly, you’re looking for a long-term career, not just the next project.
