Job summary

CV Services is seeking a commercially capable Project Manager to lead tendering and delivery of Battery Energy Storage System and renewable energy projects in Australia. You will own projects from tender through to commissioning, coordinating estimators, engineers and operations with a focus on safety, cost and schedule.

The role requires hands-on contractor experience, ability to manage design, procurement, construction and handover, and travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work with estimators, commercial managers and engineers to develop practical and competitive tenders.
• Review scope, drawings, specifications, contracts, programs and client requirements.
• Contribute to construction methodology, project staging, resourcing, procurement and subcontracting strategies.
• Identify delivery risks, scope gaps, interfaces, long‑lead items, key assumptions and develop tender programs.
• Support tender clarifications, subcontractor engagement, client meetings and commercial reviews.
• Ensure tender allowances and programs reflect how the project will actually be delivered.
• Support the transition from tender to delivery through a structured project handover.
• Establish new projects, including scope, budget, baseline program, procurement plan, risk register and delivery strategy.
• Lead safety and ensure HSEQ requirements are embedded in planning and site execution.
• Manage design coordination, procurement, subcontractors, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Deliver specialist EBoP packages or complete smaller EPC projects, depending on the delivery model.
• Coordinate interfaces with clients, battery OEMs, civil contractors, NSPs, designers, suppliers and commissioning specialists.
• Manage project budgets, cash flow, commitments, cost to complete and Estimate at Completion.
• Protect CV’s commercial position through disciplined notices, variation management and subcontract control.
• Maintain accurate programs, progress reports, cost and margin forecasts and project records.
• Ensure ITPs, test results, redlines, as‑builts and handover documentation are completed progressively.

Lead the delivery of renewable energy, BESS and electrical infrastructure projects from tender through to commissioning.

CV Power & Renewables is seeking an experienced Project Manager to help tender and deliver Battery Energy Storage System and renewable energy projects.

Projects will typically range from $1 million to $25 million+, supporting facilities from approximately 5 MW to 100 MW.

CV operates as:

• A specialist Electrical Balance of Plant contractor on larger utility-scale BESS and renewable projects.


• An EPC contractor on smaller projects, typically from 5 MW to 50 MW, with responsibility for engineering, procurement, construction, integration, testing and handover.

The Project Manager will work with estimators, commercial managers, engineers and operational teams during tendering, before taking ownership of awarded projects through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and commercial close-out.

This is a hands‑on contractor‑side role with accountability for safety, quality, program, cost, client management and project margin.

Key Responsibilities

Tendering and Pre-Contracts

• Work with estimators, commercial managers and engineers to develop practical and competitive tenders.


• Review scope, drawings, specifications, contracts, programs and client requirements.


• Contribute to construction methodology, project staging, resourcing, procurement and subcontracting strategies.


• Identify delivery risks, scope gaps, interfaces, long‑lead items, key assumptions and develop tender programs.

Required Experience

• Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer experience within renewables, electrical infrastructure, substations, utilities or industrial power.


• Experience delivering projects or substantial packages in the $1 million to $25 million range.


• Experience supporting tenders, estimates, methodologies, programs, risk reviews and subcontractor pricing.


• Strong understanding of electrical BoP delivery, including HV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, cabling, earthing, protection, controls or SCADA interfaces.


• Experience managing design, procurement, construction, subcontractors, cost, program and client relationships.


• Working knowledge of construction contracts, variations, EOTs, notices and change control.


• Ability to manage a specialist package within a larger EPC project and broader delivery responsibility on smaller EPC projects.


• Willingness to travel to regional and interstate project sites as required.

Highly Regarded

• Direct BESS, solar, hybrid‑generation, substation or grid‑connection experience.


• Experience coordinating battery OEM, civil, electrical, SCADA/PPC and commissioning packages.


• Electrical trade and/or formal qualifications in engineering, construction management or project management.


• Familiarity with AS 4000, AS 4902 or EPC‑style contracts.


• Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar project controls systems.

They will be capable of leading specialist EBoP packages on larger BESS projects and complete EPC delivery of smaller 5 MW to 50 MW projects.
