Job summary
The Royal Women's Hospital in Parkville is seeking a Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of digital, technology and transformation initiatives within the Digital Innovation portfolio. You will plan, govern and optimise projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget and quality meet agreed outcomes while partnering with program managers, vendors and clinical and operational stakeholders.
This role requires senior delivery experience, strong governance, risk management and vendor coordination,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Digital Health or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex digital, technology, process-improvement or transformation projects in healthcare or a regulated environment.
- Strong project-management capability across planning, schedules, governance, budgets, RAID, procurement, vendor management, assurance and benefits tracking.

Digital Innovation (DI), hosted by the Women's, provides a unified ICT capability across the Parkville Local Health Service Network. Supporting the Women's, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, DI delivers shared digital infrastructure, systems and innovation services critical to clinical and operational performance across more than 19,000 staff.
Project Delivery & Transformation delivers digital, technology and transformation projects that support organisational priorities across the Parkville health-service environment. The team applies disciplined project planning, governance, risk and financial management, stakeholder engagement, assurance and vendor coordination to deliver sustainable outcomes and continuously strengthen project delivery practices.
As an Project Manager you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of assigned digital, technology and transformation projects, ensuring outcomes are delivered to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality standards. You will work with Program Managers, Portfolio Directors, project teams, business stakeholders, technical specialists and vendors, the role leads planning, governance, risk, reporting, financial management and stakeholder coordination while contributing to the ongoing uplift of project delivery practices.
- Plan, scope and deliver digital, technology and transformation projects, maintaining clear plans, schedules, deliverables, milestones and benefits aligned with organisational priorities.
- Manage project performance, budgets, forecasts, RAID, dependencies, procurement and vendor commitments, escalating issues and implementing corrective action when required.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring delivery considers user-centred design, change impacts, cyber security, architecture and operational requirements.
- Prepare clear governance reporting, dashboards, business cases and steering materials, and support assurance reviews, health checks, lessons learned and continuous improvement.
You are an experienced and delivery-focused project professional who brings structure, judgement and momentum to complex work. You build trusted relationships, communicate clearly with senior and technical stakeholders, and can balance strategic priorities with disciplined day-to-day delivery in a dynamic health-service environment.
- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Digital Health or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex digital, technology, process-improvement or transformation projects in healthcare or another regulated environment.
- Strong project-management capability across planning, schedules, governance, budgets, RAID, procurement, vendor management, assurance and benefits tracking.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence executives, business stakeholders, technical specialists, operational teams and external partners.
- Sound understanding of healthcare operations, digital transformation, cyber security, architecture and regulatory requirements, with the ability to translate these into practical project delivery.
- Strategic and analytical thinking, with a solid understanding of contemporary project delivery methodologies, emerging technologies, and project management frameworks.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications, such as PMBOK, PMP, PRINCE2, and Agile, will be highly regarded.
