Job summary

Talent Corp is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a payroll implementation and transformation program for a government-owned corporation in Brisbane. The initial 6-month contract focuses on delivering a new payroll solution in partnership with Payroll, HR, Technology and external vendors.

The successful candidate will manage payroll, HRIS or HCM implementations, coordinate cross-functional workstreams, data migration, testing, cutover and transition to BAU, with experience in ADP,

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll implementation with milestones, scope, budget and timelines.
• Develop and maintain the project plan, schedule, governance framework, RAID register and delivery reporting.
• Coordinate activities across Payroll, HR, Finance, Technology, vendors and implementation partners.
• Manage multiple workstreams including solution implementation, integrations, data migration, testing, cutover.
• Establish clear project governance, reporting and decision-making processes.
• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies and changes, ensuring escalation and resolution.
• Work with Business Analysts, technical teams and business SMEs to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
• Oversee data migration, validation and reconciliation activities with payroll and technical teams.
• Coordinate system, integration, payroll parallel testing and user acceptance testing activities.
• Manage implementation partners and third-party vendors, ensuring deliverables align with scope and timelines.
• Develop and manage implementation, cutover and go-live plans.
• Support business readiness, stakeholder communications, training and transition into BAU operations.
• Provide clear and regular reporting to project sponsors, steering committees and senior stakeholders.

Project Manager - (Payroll Implementation)

Working for a key government-owned corporation, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a payroll implementation and transformation program.

This is an initial 6-month contract based in Brisbane, working closely with Payroll, HR, Technology, business stakeholders and implementation partners to successfully deliver a new payroll solution.

The successful candidate will have strong experience managing payroll, HRIS or HCM implementations, with the ability to coordinate complex business and technology workstreams, manage vendors and stakeholders, and drive the program through implementation, testing, cutover and transition to BAU.

Experience with ADP, SAP SuccessFactors and/or Oracle HCM will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager delivering payroll, HRIS or HCM implementation programs.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and the complexities associated with payroll system implementations.
• Proven experience managing technology implementation projects involving business, technical and vendor teams.
• Experience managing data migration, system integrations, testing, cutover and go-live activities.
• Strong project planning, governance, risk and issue management capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience managing external implementation partners and technology vendors.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies and delivery timelines within complex environments.
• Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a delivery-focused approach.

• Project delivery experience implementing ADP.
• Experience with SAP SuccessFactors.
