Job summary

TasPorts in Devonport, Tasmania, seeks a Project Manager to lead day-to-day project activities, manage scope, schedule, cost, risk and stakeholder engagement requirements. The role supports the Senior Project Manager and ensures safe, timely delivery during a period of significant operational change, focusing on Terminal 3 close-out activities.

This is a full-time, fixed-term 12-month contract based in Devonport, Tasmania, with responsibility for infrastructure projects and contract

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in project management and contract administration in industrial, commercial, civil or ports environments.
• Experience with Australian Standards and design/analysis processes is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills for diverse stakeholder groups.
• Excellent written and spoken communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, review drawings, estimate and program infrastructure projects.
• Develop contract documentation and technical specifications for maintenance and capital works.
• Oversee tender processes in accordance with TasPorts policies and standards.
• Manage projects from conceptual design to completion within budget, time and quality targets.
• Provide specialist technical advice, including cost estimates, schedules and stakeholder liaison.

About the role

The Project Manager will lead day-to-day project activities, manage scope, schedule, cost, risk and stakeholder engagement requirements, and support the Senior Project Manager in ensuring safe and timely delivery of the works. The role is critical to maintaining project momentum during a period of significant operational change and will facilitate the efficient completion of Terminal 3 close-out activities.

This is a full-time, fixed term 12-month contract based in Devonport, Tasmania.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, drawing review, estimating and programming of infrastructure projects;




• Develop contract documentation as well as technical specifications for various maintenance and capital projects and effective contract administration;




• Manage tender processes in accordance with TasPorts policies, Australian Standards and best industry practices;




• Manage various projects from conceptual design to completion within budget to the required quality and time schedule;




• Provision of specialist technical advice, including review of concept and detail designs, development of cost estimates, schedules, project plans, liaising with external and internal project stakeholders;

What you will have

• Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in project management and contract administration in an industrial, commercial, civil or ports environment.




• Experience and competence in designs and analysis using relevant Australian Standards.




• Highly developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, leadership skills and ability to work with and manage diverse range of staff, contractors, clients and stakeholders.




• Analytical, conceptual, problem solving, self-management and time management skills.




• Excellent oral and written communication and relationship management skills.

Essential

• Qualifications of either "trade", "diploma" or "tertiary" level in an appropriate area




• Experience of infrastructure projects, in particular marine structures across a range of trade areas




• Current drivers' licence




• Ability to acquire and hold a Marine Security Identification Card (MSIC) card

Desirable

• Tertiary qualification in civil/structural engineering




• Corporate member of the Institution of Engineers of Australia and Registered Engineer (NPER).




• A formal project management qualification
