Job summary

Jacaranda Kitchens is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to coordinate between clients, builders, designers and our workshop team in Sydney, NSW. You will oversee scheduling, manufacturing, site readiness, installation and completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to spec and within budget.

You will need to be organised, proactive and confident in decision-making and problem-solving as issues arise.

Qualifications

• Must have prior project management or senior coordination experience in kitchen/cabinetry/building/renovation.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen manufacturing, cabinetry, benchtops and installation processes.
• Ability to read and interpret kitchen plans, elevations, drawings and specs.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong communication skills when dealing with clients, trades and internal teams.
• High attention to detail and focus on quality; proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Manage kitchen and cabinetry projects from handover to final completion and handover.
• Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating manufacturing, deliveries, installations and other trades.
• Collaborate with designers, drafters and estimators to ensure projects are production-ready.
• Review plans and site requirements to preempt issues.
• Coordinate with workshop to ensure on-time manufacture of cabinetry.
• Oversee installers, subcontractors and trades for site readiness and progress.
• Liaise with clients for updates and expectations.
• Conduct site visits for measurements and condition assessments.
• Monitor progress, quality, costs and variations.
• Identify and resolve design, manufacture, site or materials issues.

Job description

This is a key position within Jacaranda Kitchens, a Clontarf based kitchen and joinery company. As Project Manager, you will be the central point of coordination between clients, builders, designers, estimators, workshop, installers, suppliers and other trades. You will oversee project scheduling, manufacturing, site readiness, installation and completion, ensuring each project is delivered on time, to specification, within budget and to Jacaranda Kitchens' high standards of quality. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will need to be organised, proactive and confident making decisions and solving problems as they arise.

Key responsibilities

• Manage kitchen and cabinetry projects from handover through to final completion and handover
• Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating manufacturing, deliveries, installations and other trades
• Work closely with designers, drafters and estimators to ensure projects are fully understood and ready for production
• Review plans, drawings, specifications and site requirements to identify potential issues before they become problems
• Coordinate with the workshop to ensure cabinetry and components are manufactured correctly and within required timeframes
• Coordinate installers, subcontractors and trades to ensure sites are ready and projects progress efficiently
• Liaise directly with clients throughout the project, providing updates and managing expectations
• Conduct site visits, check measurements and assess site conditions where required
• Monitor project progress, quality, costs and variations
• Identify and resolve issues relating to design, manufacture, site conditions, installation or materials

About you

• Previous experience in a project management or senior coordination role within the kitchen, cabinetry, joinery, building or renovation industry
• Strong knowledge of kitchen manufacturing, cabinetry, benchtops and installation processes
• The ability to read and understand kitchen plans, elevations, drawings and specifications
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to confidently manage multiple projects at different stages simultaneously
• Strong communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with clients, trades, suppliers and internal staff
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think ahead and anticipate issues
• A current driver's licence
• A good understanding of construction sites, renovations and site sequencing
