Job summary

FutureYou is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our delivery team for healthcare design and fit-out projects. This hands-on role requires ownership from project start to finish, coordinating clients, consultants, contractors, trades and internal teams to ensure safe, on-time, on-spec delivery within budget.

The successful candidate understands construction from the ground up and can bring together design, pre-construction and site activities to achieve seamless project transitions.

Qualifications

With a reputation for quality, technical expertise and exceptional client service, the business is continuing to grow and is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join its delivery team.

The Opportunity

This is a hands‑on Project Manager role with genuine ownership from project commencement through to completion. You’ll work across the office and site, coordinating clients, consultants, contractors, trades and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to specification and within budget. You’ll be equally comfortable walking a site, speaking with trades and solving issues in real time as you are sitting at your desk managing programs, budgets, variations, reporting and client communication.

The role will suit someone who understands construction from the ground up and has the project management capability to bring everything together.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Take end‑to‑end ownership of healthcare construction and fit‑out projects.
• Manage project programs, budgets, costs, variations and forecasts.
• Coordinate contractors, trades, suppliers, consultants and internal teams.
• Maintain strong client relationships and act as the key point of contact throughout delivery.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and resolve issues before they impact the project.
• Manage procurement, contractor performance, quality and site requirements.
• Ensure projects meet relevant building, safety, compliance and client requirements.
• Coordinate handovers, defects, approvals and project close‑out.
• Work closely with Design and Pre‑Construction to ensure smooth project transitions.
• Contribute to improving project delivery processes, systems and reporting.

About You

We’re looking for a practical, commercially minded Project Manager who knows construction and isn’t afraid to get out on site.

Your background could come through a number of pathways. You might be:

• An experienced Project Manager from healthcare construction, fit‑out, commercial interiors or a related environment.
• A qualified tradesperson who has progressed into project management and developed strong commercial and client management skills.
• A Site Manager, Foreman or Construction Manager ready to step further into a Project Management role.

You will:

• Understand construction methodology and what it takes to deliver a project on site.
• Be confident managing programs, budgets, contractors and stakeholders.
• Be comfortable moving between site‑based problem solving and office‑based project management.
• Have strong communication and client management skills.
• Be commercially aware, with an understanding of costs, variations and project margins.
• Take ownership and accountability for your projects.
• Be organised, proactive and solutions‑focused.
• Have a strong understanding of WHS, quality and construction requirements.
