Job summary

The Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) scopes on major energy and infrastructure projects. The role involves end-to-end delivery from planning through construction, commissioning and handover, with accountability for safety, quality and commercial performance.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams, coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and subcontractor activities, and report to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience managing major energy/infrastructure projects.
• Proven delivery of SMP scopes.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management.
• Solid commercial/contract knowledge.
• Engineering degree; PMP/PRINCE2 advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Structural, Mechanical & Piping project scopes from planning through to completion.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasting and resource planning.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and subcontractor activities.
• Drive outstanding safety performance and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
• Manage commercial performance, including variations, claims, forecasting and cost control.
• Oversee construction sequencing, installation quality and productivity.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure quality assurance, inspection and compliance requirements are achieved.
• Prepare project reports and provide regular updates to senior leadership.

Project Manager - Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP)

Lead major energy and infrastructure projects on a 2:1 FIFO roster.

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) expertise to join our growing Energy & Infrastructure team. About The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of SMP project scopes—from planning and engineering coordination through construction, commissioning and handover.

Operating on a 2:1 FIFO roster to major infrastructure projects in regional NSW, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams, manage commercial performance, build strong client relationships and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

About You

You'll be an experienced Project Manager who thrives in a site-based environment and enjoys leading complex projects to successful completion.

You Will Bring

• 8+ years' experience managing major projects within energy, infrastructure, mining, industrial or oil & gas sectors.
• Demonstrated experience delivering Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) scopes.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Sound commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
• A degree in Mechanical, Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualifications (advantageous).
