Job description

A leading Brisbane organisation is seeking a Cyber Security Project Manager on a Fixed Term Contract to lead a high-profile Cyber Maturity Uplift initiative within their Enterprise Portfolio Management Office. This is a unique opportunity to strengthen cyber resilience and operational continuity while driving strategic transformation. You’ll implement key recommendations from recent maturity assessments, helping protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.

This role offers a collaborative environment where your expertise in project management and cyber security will be highly valued. You’ll work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams, with access to flexible working arrangements, professional development, and cutting-edge portfolio governance.

Be at the centre of a major cyber uplift initiative, delivering projects critical to organisational strategy and future readiness.
Enjoy flexible work options and ongoing training while collaborating with experts across business units and leadership.
Contribute to a culture that values your input, encourages knowledge sharing, and supports wellbeing and growth.

What you'll do:

As Cyber Security Project Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of the Cyber Maturity Uplift project, coordinating multiple workstreams based on recent assessments. You’ll ensure uplift of 15 key controls aligned with frameworks like the ACSC Essential Eight, while engaging senior stakeholders and fostering collaboration across IT, business units, and change champions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex ICT projects within the Optimisation and Innovation Portfolio.
  • Developing schedules, managing risks, tracking benefits, and overseeing budgets.
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams and facilitating governance forums.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships to support change management.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet strategic goals and reporting into governance structures.
  • Maintaining quality documentation and compliance with internal policies.
  • Promoting a safe workplace and implementing risk controls.
  • Upholding information security standards across all project activities.
What you bring:

You’ll bring a strong mix of cyber security knowledge—especially around Essential Eight—and proven experience managing complex ICT or transformation projects. You’re skilled at translating technical insights into strategic action, engaging stakeholders, and maintaining high standards of documentation and reporting.

Key qualifications and experience:

  • Certification in Prince2, PMBOK, or equivalent project management credentials.
  • 3+ years in project management roles, ideally in large-scale ICT environments.
  • 2–3 years in IT or cyber security roles with Essential Eight implementation experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Visio, Office 365, and JIRA.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to produce executive-level reports and presentations.
  • Commitment to information security and workplace safety standards.

The role requires the candidate to be based in Brisbane.
