Job summary

DCOH is seeking a Victoria-based Construction Project Manager to lead on-site execution from award to handover, ensuring safety, schedule fidelity and budget control across complex commercial projects.

You will coordinate with Site Managers, manage subcontractors, monitor progress and maintain documentation to ensure high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Building & Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering commercial construction projects in a Project Manager or similar role.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project delivery sequencing and subcontractor coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects through all phases of construction including structure, services, finishes and handover.
• Sound knowledge of construction contracts, compliance obligations and relevant legislation.
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements in construction environments.
• Proven ability to lead and manage project teams in a live delivery environment.
• Experience procuring trade packages, scopes of work and managing subcontractor engagement.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Experience managing budgets, programme performance and cost controls.
• Strong stakeholder management with clients, consultants and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of construction projects in line with programme, budget and contractual requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day project execution with Site Managers to ensure safe, coordinated and productive delivery.
• Monitor progress and proactively address delays, conflicts and risks.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality requirements on site.
• Procure trade packages, develop scopes of work and manage subcontractor engagement.
• Oversee subcontractor performance and contractual obligations to ensure delivery.
• Review subcontractor claims, variations and EOT requests with Contracts Administrator.
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Monitor programme performance, budgets and procurement efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain project records, RFIs, site instructions and correspondence.
• Lead commissioning, defect rectification, certification and handover.

WHO YOU ARE

This Victoria-based role is responsible for leading the on-site execution of construction projects from project award to handover, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

• A Diploma or Degree in Building & Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline


• Proven experience delivering commercial construction projects in a Project Manager or similar role


• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project delivery sequencing and subcontractor coordination


• Demonstrated ability to manage projects through all phases of construction, including structure, services, finishes and handover


• Sound knowledge of construction contracts, compliance obligations and relevant legislation


• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements within construction environments


• Proven ability to lead and manage project teams in a live delivery environment


• Experience procuring trade packages, preparing scopes of work and managing subcontractor engagement


• Ability to identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies


• Experience managing project budgets, programme performance and cost controls


• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and regulatory authorities


• High-level organisational, planning and time management skills


• Proficiency in project and site management software including HammerTech, Procore, MS Project, Aconex or similar platforms


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Current Construction Induction Card (White Card)


• Current Australian Driver's Licence

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead the delivery of construction projects in accordance with programme, budget and contractual requirements.


• Oversee day-to-day project execution in collaboration with Site Managers and project teams to ensure safe, coordinated and productive delivery.


• Monitor project progress and proactively address delays, conflicts, sequencing challenges and project delivery risks.


• Ensure all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements are implemented, maintained and regularly reviewed on site.


• Procure trade packages, develop scopes of work and manage subcontractor and supplier engagement.


• Oversee subcontractor performance, compliance and contractual obligations to ensure successful project delivery.


• Review subcontractor claims, variations and extension of time requests in collaboration with the Contracts Administrator.


• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other key project stakeholders.


• Monitor programme performance, project budgets and delivery outcomes, identifying cost risks, savings opportunities and procurement efficiencies.


• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.


• Maintain accurate project records, reports, RFIs, site instructions and project correspondence.


• Manage project documentation, drawing registers, construction revisions and document control processes to ensure information is accurate and up to date.


• Liaise with project administration personnel to support reporting, compliance, certification and project close-out requirements.


• Lead commissioning, defect rectification, certification and handover activities to achieve successful project completion.


• Mentor and support project personnel, foster a collaborative and accountable team culture, and represent DCOH professionally in accordance with the DCOH Code of Conduct.
