About the job

We’re seeking an experienced and driven professional to play a key role in delivering our multi-billion-dollar capital program. In this pivotal position, you’ll ensure new capital projects are seamlessly transferred from planning through to delivery, achieving customer outcomes, maximise value, and supporting corporate objectives.

Responsibilities
  • The role requires a self-motivator, independent person who can drive outcomes. The role is autonomous managing your own projects, as a PM you will assist and work with a Senior PM to deliver a portfolio of works.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary program objectives to deliver capital projects and customer outcomes, fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture across capital delivery planning.
  • Lead in implementing short-, medium- and long-term strategies such that new capital work investment into the capital delivery team effectively from upstream planning functions
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable delivery plans, monitor progress, and adapt to ensure the achievement of corporate and customer goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation, enhancing program management processes, systems, and practices to deliver better customer outcomes and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage effective delivery planning, ensuring new capital works transition smoothly from planning into delivery, with optimal work package sizing, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead in work package sizing and work allocation decisions that support best for project/program outcomes recognising the diversity and complexity of work within a $.7b to $1.0b per annum program of capital expenditure.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, communicating performance, priorities, and key messages to influence behaviours and achieve shared objectives.
  • Champion safety leadership, ensuring compliance with all WHS standards, regulations, and frameworks, and fostering a safe work environment across all delivery activities.
  • Provide expert guidance and facilitation, chairing meetings and workshops to align integrated teams and support the delivery planning lifecycle.
Your success in this role will come from
  • Formal qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience working in and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong track record in planning of complex project or program management across the asset lifecycle, ideally in an infrastructure or construction environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and influence outcomes.
  • The ability to work autonomously, taking initiative and delivering results with minimal supervision.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the work transition process and implement improvements as required to enable efficient outcomes.
