Job summary

LC Water is seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, coordination and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from initiation to completion. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage client and stakeholder relationships, and ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery.

Based at the Norlane office with occasional site travel across Victoria, the role requires strong communication, budget oversight, and a track record managing civil, mechanical or process projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects is preferred (5–10 years).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects to achieve milestones, budget targets and quality, with safe delivery outcomes.
  • Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants for effective execution.
  • Develop, monitor and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts and reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client, stakeholder and regulatory relationships through proactive communication.
  • Manage project risks, opportunities, contractual obligations and commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, quality and environmental management requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports and procurement records.
  • Identify and resolve project issues to minimise impacts on programme, cost and quality.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project personnel and foster a positive team culture.

Job description

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination and delivery of projects from commencement through to completion. You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage client and stakeholder relationships, oversee budgets, schedules and commercial performance, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. This position is based at the Norlane office and will support projects located throughout Victoria. Travel to project sites will be required from time to time to facilitate project delivery, stakeholder engagement and site-based activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects to achieve programme milestones, budget targets, quality standards and safe delivery outcomes
  • Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to ensure effective project execution
  • Develop, monitor and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts and reporting requirements
  • Build and maintain strong client, stakeholder and regulatory relationships through proactive communication and collaboration
  • Manage project risks, opportunities, contractual obligations and commercial outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, quality and environmental management requirements throughout project delivery
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, financial reporting, procurement records and project plans
  • Identify and resolve project issues efficiently to minimise impacts on programme, cost and quality
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project personnel while contributing to a positive team culture

About you

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous experience delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects will be highly regarded – 5 to 10 years preferred
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field are preferred
  • Proven experience managing civil, mechanical and/or process infrastructure projects from initiation through to completion
