Job summary

Unyte in Melbourne is seeking a Project Manager to oversee civil construction projects from pre-planning to completion, ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget delivery.

You’ll coordinate resources, lead project teams, manage stakeholders and ensure client expectations are met. Strong scheduling, budgeting, and contract coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing civil construction projects, including large-scale work.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
• Strong scheduling, budgeting, resource management and contractor coordination.
• Safety-first leadership with knowledge of construction processes and QA.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery from planning through completion.

• Manage tender support, methodology, risk and handover to delivery teams.

The role:

As Project Manager, you’ll oversee and manage all aspects of civil construction projects—from pre-planning through to completion—ensuring safe, high-quality delivery on time and within budget. You’ll coordinate resources, lead and support project teams, manage stakeholders, and make sure client expectations are consistently met.

Your everyday:

• Lead end-to-end project delivery, including planning, resourcing, budgeting and reporting.
• Manage tender support activities including methodology, staging/traffic planning, risk and opportunity identification, and handover to delivery teams.
• Coordinate plant, assets and personnel to keep projects productive, compliant and on program.
• Drive program management through look-ahead planning, procurement scheduling and stakeholder coordination.
• Own commercial outcomes and HSEQ performance—cost tracking, procurement compliance, quality assurance, risk management and safety leadership.

Who are you?

• 5+ years’ experience managing civil construction projects, with a track record on complex, large-scale work.
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management (or similar) is preferred.
• Strong capability in scheduling, budgeting, resource management and contractor/supplier coordination.
• A safety-first leader with strong knowledge of construction processes, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence using project management tools and MS Office (Microsoft Project experience is advantageous).
