Job summary

UnitingCare Health Pty Ltd. in Brisbane seeks a Project Manager on a 12-month contract to deliver capital projects from concept through to completion. You will engage clinicians, staff and partners to translate requirements into practical, well-delivered outcomes within a live operating environment.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will manage governance, time, cost and scope while maintaining safety and stakeholder relationships. This role offers hybrid work by agreement.

Supporting an expanding portfolio of works across BlueCare and broader UnitingCare services, it’s a great opportunity for someone with solid project management experience who is ready to make a meaningful contribution in a complex, live operating environment.As an owner-operator, how we connect with our customers and stakeholders is critical to success. In this role, you’ll work closely with operational teams, clinicians, staff, residents, customers and partners to understand their needs, communicate clearly through the project lifecycle and translate requirements into practical, well-delivered outcomes.Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you’ll manage a broad range of capital projects from concept through to completion, including upcoming residential aged care refurbishments, sustainability and demolition projects, upgrades, and larger development works such as the Pinangba Cairns project. With approved refurbishments valued at approximately $7–10 million each and larger developments around $40 million, this role offers variety, complexity and the chance to deliver projects that genuinely support people in need.*Please note, this position is a 12-month contract with the possibility to extend. Flexibility is important to us, and we know it is to you, too - this role supports hybrid working by agreement.* **Your part in our UnitingCare team:*** Manage the delivery of capital projects, including residential aged care refurbishments, upgrades, sustainability initiatives, demolition works and larger developments.* Engage closely with customers and stakeholders to understand needs, communicate effectively and ensure projects deliver practical, fit-for-purpose outcomes in live operating environments.* Support a portfolio predominantly across BlueCare, with the opportunity to contribute to hospital projects as required.* Apply project management fundamentals across governance, time, cost, scope, quality, reporting and benefits realisation* Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders to support smooth delivery* Identify and manage risks, issues and interdependencies, escalating when needed* Provide clear, practical advice to support decision-making and problem-solving* Monitor and report on key project performance metrics* Live the values and contribute to a positive team culture and support broader portfolio outcomes**What makes a difference for us?*** Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies. This may include a *Nationally Coordinated Police Check, Right to Work in Australia** Tertiary qualification in property, construction management, or related field.* Project management competency certification (e.g., PMP, AIPM).* Experience delivering minor to medium capital works projects end-to-end.* Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Power BI and MS Project.* Experience delivering projects in live environments, with the ability to balance operational continuity, stakeholder needs and project outcomes.* Background in aged care, retirement living, health, education or government environments will be highly regarded.* Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills.* Understanding of health and safety legislation and commitment to best practice safety culture.* Excellent organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and deliver on time and budget.* Ability to work within a team environment and manage stakeholder expectations* Demonstrated self-discipline through managing competing priorities and delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget**What makes a difference for you?** *The opportunity to be part of the second-largest Queensland employer who has been leading by example for more than 100 years.
