Job summary

KBR is seeking a Project Manager in Canberra to oversee all phases of planning and execution for varied small projects. Located in Canberra and collocated with the project client, you will coordinate with the Melbourne project office and the SOGC to ensure alignment with project goals and client expectations.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of PM experience, strong communication and planning skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related project management experience.
  • Strong planning, organisation and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team engagement.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee the execution of project plans, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control project activities to meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Provide updates on project progress, address client concerns, and ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among team members to enhance overall project efficiency.
  • Ensure projects comply with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, reports, and other relevant records.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the respective industry, staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Apply industry knowledge to enhance project outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all phases of planning and execution of varying small projects as assigned by the client within LAND1508. Managing projects from inception to introduction into service and handover to the sustainment organization. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in planning, organising, coordinating, and controlling small projects in adherence to established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company. With a focus on client satisfaction, the Project Manager contributes to day-to-day communication and interactions with clients, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. Located in Canberra and collocated with the project client you are a pivotal communication liaison between the project office in Melbourne and the SOGC.

As The Ideal Candidate You Will Bring
  • Qualifications in Project Management (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of related project management experience
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, organisation, and coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team engagement.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Ability to obtain a Defence Security Clearance
Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
