The Geospatial Collection Systems (GCS) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team. Operating in a dynamic integrated environment comprising of APS, Contractors and Military personnel, the role is responsible for providing assurance on the development and delivery of Geospatial collection projects and products.
The role requires excellent communication and coordination skills, as well as experience in, or a strong understanding of, project management and the Defence Capability project lifecycles. You will be working closely with the GCS executive team to support capability development and assure project and product delivery.
The Intelligence Data and Targeting (IDT) Branch manages the Defence Targeting Enterprise, Defence Geospatial Program, and Foundational Military Intelligence. It will deliver intelligence capability outcomes to the integrated force, Defence and whole of government. Capabilities within the program will enable Defence to source, produce, and share data, information and intelligence to enable critical Australian Defence Force (ADF) targeting, and operations, and meet National Defence priorities.
As part of IDT the GCS team sponsors Integrated Investment Program (IIP) geospatial collection capability projects in various stages of the Defence Capability project lifecycle. This position is required to ensure effective planning, governance, and assurance over delivery of work packages to achieve strategic outcomes. The resource will be responsible for a broad range of activities including task management; simple procurement support; information management, workforce support, and governance and assurance activities.
Our ideal candidate will have a high level of project management skills, including the ability to work under pressure with limited resources. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are also required in order to engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the required outcomes for Defence.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who demonstrates the ability to manage project activities in a complex integrated environment, including the ability to prioritise tasks and manage risks, issues and stakeholder engagements. The candidate needs to be motivated and willing to take on new challenges, whilst implementing and aligning with Defence capability processes.
Note: This position will require a Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV), but NV1 and NV2 will be considered if willing to undergo the process to upgrade to TSPV. Candidates will also be required to successfully undergo a Defence Intelligence Suitability Assessment (DISA) prior to engagement.
Prior to commencement, successful applicants will be required to undergo a psychological assessment and an extensive security clearance process. As a Positive Vetting clearance is required, applicants must be Australian Citizens; be able to account for their personal background for their whole life; and be able to demonstrate suitability to work in a high security intelligence environment.
