Job summary

Mayfield Industries Pty Ltd in Adelaide is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead the delivery of electrical infrastructure projects from pre-contract to handover. You will plan, coordinate and monitor multiple HV projects, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure client satisfaction and profitability.

Ideally you bring several years of project-based experience in HV systems and switchgear, with strong MS Project or similar tools expertise, and a PM certification.

• Plan and control development and delivery of allocated projects.
• Ensure client satisfaction and profitability on HV systems projects.
• Experience in electrical switchgear or HV project environments is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and delivery of multiple projects on time and within budget.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Prepare schedules, monitor progress, assess risks and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate resources, procurement, and production to optimize labour and materials.
• Monitor budgets, forecast costs, and report financial performance to management.
• Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement in line with WHS and company systems.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our growing team. The primary objective is to plan and control the development and delivery of allocated projects, from pre-contracts stage to handover to the client, to achieve specification and profit objectives while ensuring client satisfaction.

Duties

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements.


• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction.


• Prepare and manage project schedules, monitor progress, identify risks and potential delays, and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.


• Coordinate project resources, procurement activities, subcontractors, and production requirements to ensure efficient delivery and optimal use of labour, materials, and equipment.


• Monitor project budgets, costs, forecasting, and financial performance, with a focus on maximizing profitability and delivering commercial outcomes.


• Champion quality, safety, and continuous improvement by ensuring compliance with company management systems, contractual obligations, and WHS requirements while capturing and implementing lessons learned.


• Provide regular project reporting to senior management, participate in project review meetings, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of project management practices across the business.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade; Project Management certification preferred.


• Several years’ experience as an Engineer in project-based environments, ideally within high-voltage (HV) systems and switchgear.


• Strong project delivery background with the ability to manage timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.


• Proficiency in MS Project or similar project management software.
