Job summary

ASC Pty Ltd in Adelaide is seeking a PMO Assurance Lead to help shape a new PMO Assurance capability within the Transformation Office. You will support corporate and digital transformation initiatives, working with senior stakeholders to deliver independent assurance, governance reviews and delivery confidence assessments.

Reporting to the PMO Assurance Manager and collaborating with project teams, you will drive governance reporting, continuous improvement, and growth of the PMO capability

Qualifications

About the Opportunity

The PMO Assurance Lead is an exciting opportunity to help shape and establish a new PMO Assurance capability within the ASC Transformation Office. Supporting ASC's strategic Corporate and Digital Transformation initiatives, the role offers broad exposure across a diverse portfolio of projects and programs.

Partnering closely with the PMO Assurance Manager, program teams and senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in executing independent assurance activities, governance reviews and delivery confidence assessments. Through objective analysis, assurance reporting and governance oversight, you will help drive successful project outcomes while supporting the continuous improvement of project delivery practices across the organisation.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced PMO, Project Governance or Assurance professional to further develop their expertise in portfolio assurance, project controls, governance and transformation delivery within a growing and evolving PMO environment.

Reporting to the PMO Assurance Manager located at the Adelaide CBD office, the role works collaboratively with Transformation leaders, project and program teams, and the embedded PMO service delivery team to support the delivery of high-quality assurance services, governance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen project management maturity.

This opportunity is offered as a full-time, 24-month fixed-term contract

Responsibilities

• Deliver independent assurance and governance services across Corporate and Digital Transformation programs and projects.
• Conduct project, program and portfolio assurance reviews, including health checks, delivery confidence assessments, stage-gate reviews, organisational readiness assessments and project recovery reviews.
• Monitor compliance with ASC policies, standards, governance requirements and the Transformation Office Delivery Framework.
• Assess the effectiveness of project controls, including scope, schedule, financial management, risk, issue, dependency and benefits management practices.
• Prepare assurance reports, delivery confidence assessments, governance insights and recommendations for senior leaders, governance forums and project stakeholders.
• Support the identification, assessment and escalation of project and program risks, governance concerns and delivery issues.
• Review and monitor benefits realisation planning, measurement and reporting to support intended business outcomes and strategic value.
• Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of PMO assurance methodologies, frameworks, standards, templates and processes.
• Contribute to the establishment and growth of the PMO Assurance capability within the Transformation Office.
• Provide guidance and support to project managers, program managers and PMO practitioners on governance, assurance requirements and project controls.
• Support external assurance reviews, audits and independent assessments where required.
• Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, implementation partners and external assurance providers across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Contribute to portfolio-level reporting and assurance activities by identifying emerging trends, systemic risks and opportunities for improvement across the transformation portfolio.

About you

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience within PMO, Project Management, Program Management, Governance or Assurance environments, including experience supporting complex business or digital transformation initiatives.
• Qualifications in Project Management, Business, Commerce, Governance, Risk Management or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as PMI-PMOCP, PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP, P3O or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience conducting project health checks, assurance reviews, governance assessments or PMO governance activities across projects or programs.
• Experience supporting organisation-wide process transformation, Digital Transformation or technology-enabled programs.
• Working knowledge of project controls, project governance, risk management, benefits management and portfolio management practices.
• Experience preparing governance and assurance reporting for senior stakeholders, steering committees or governance forums.
• Ability to provide objective and constructive challenge to project and program teams while maintaining positive stakeholder relationships
• Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret complex project information and identify risks, issues, trends and opportunities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear, concise and meaningful insights to stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across project, program and business teams.
• Experience contributing to the development and maintenance of project delivery methodologies, governance frameworks, assurance processes, standards and reporting.
• A proactive, detail-oriented and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across a complex transformation portfolio.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for improving project delivery outcomes, governance maturity and assurance practices.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
