Job summary

AECOM in Australia is seeking a Project Management Intern to support day-to-day delivery activities across transport, water, and renewable energy projects. You will learn from experienced project and program managers while assisting with coordination tasks and gaining exposure to real projects from day one.

This 12-week paid internship runs mid‑November to mid‑February. You will help with schedules, budgets, documentation, risk registers, and governance processes, working with multidisciplinary

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in penultimate year of Engineering, Civil or Construction degree.
  • Full-time availability 16 November 2026 – 19 February 2027.
  • Must have full working rights to work in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support schedule, budget, and quality tracking under guidance.
  • Prepare project documentation, reports, and stakeholder communications.

We are a collaborative, high‑performing Project and Program Management team delivering complex infrastructure across transport, water, and renewable energy.

As a Project Management Intern, you will be supporting day‑to‑day delivery activities and helping with coordination tasks while learning from experienced project and program managers.

How you’ll make a difference
  • Support the delivery of major infrastructure programs by helping with schedule, budget, and quality tracking under guidance (e.g., maintaining registers, logs, and dashboards).
  • Help prepare and manage project documentation, reports, and stakeholder communications, including meeting minutes, action trackers, and presentation materials.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assist in monitoring progress and identifying risks or issues, supporting updates to risk registers and mitigation actions.
  • Contribute across all project stages—from initial planning through delivery and into operation—by helping with PMO processes, governance activities, and status reporting under supervision.

Qualifications
  • Intern attributes: Curious, excited to apply studies in a professional environment; strong communication and teamwork skills, positive proactive attitude, adaptability, and commitment to professionalism and integrity.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: In penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Engineering, Civil or Construction Services.
  • Commencement: Able to work full time hours from 16 November 2026 – 19 February 2027.
  • Working Rights: Must have full working rights to work in Australia and New Zealand before applying.
