Evolution Mining’s Cowal Operations in Australia is seeking a Project Geologist (Resource Definition) to drive geological modelling and resource growth across open pit and underground drilling programs. You’ll work within a team focused on data-driven decision making and technical depth, contributing to the mine’s long-term growth plans.

The role offers exposure to 3D modelling, resource definition, and collaboration with operations, with a 5:2/4:3 roster and residential lifestyle benefits.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geosciences.
• 5+ years geology experience in hard rock or metalliferous mining environments.
• Proficiency in geological interpretation and 3D modelling.

Responsibilities

• Turn drilling, geological and geochemical data into robust 3D geological models.
• Deliver drilling programs by coordinating contractors and managing budgets.
• Influence resource opportunities through interpretation and target generation.
• Mentor graduates and develop geologists within the team.

Few geology roles offer the chance to see a deposit's journey from drill out and geological modelling through to active mining. That's exactly what this Project Geologist (Resource Definition) opportunity at Cowal is all about.

Created as part of increased resource definition investment and drilling budgets, this role will place you at the centre of exciting growth across the operation. Working a family friendly 5:2/4:3 roster, you'll enjoy the benefits of a residential lifestyle while contributing to major drilling, modelling and resource growth programs across both underground and open pit environments. Based at our Cowal Operations, reporting to the Senior Resource Definition Geologist, you'll:

• Turn drilling, geological and geochemical data into robust 3D geological models that support resource growth and future mining decisions
• Deliver successful drilling programs by coordinating contractors, managing budgets and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Influence future resource opportunities through geological interpretation, target generation and resource definition activities.
• Build capability within the team by mentoring graduate and developing geologists and sharing technical knowledge.
• Gain unique exposure to the full mining lifecycle, from resource definition through to deposits being mined

Does this sound like you?

• Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geosciences.
• Demonstrated geology experience, ideally 5+ years within hard rock or metalliferous mining environments.
• Strong capability in geological interpretation, resource definition and 3D geological modelling.
• Proficiency with Leapfrog Geo, with experience in associated geology software highly regarded.
• Experience managing drilling programs and working collaboratively with operational stakeholders.
• Current driver's licence.
