Job summary

Introba is seeking a Project Accountant to join our North Sydney team. You will manage project setup, billing, reconciliations, and analysis to support profitable project delivery. A thorough understanding of contract management, billing, and revenue recognition is essential.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's in Accounting, 3+ years of project accounting experience, and strong communication skills to collaborate with PICs, PMs, and clients. CA/CPA desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualifications desirable.
• Minimum 3 years of project accounting/billing experience.
• Experience in engineering or other project-oriented firms preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with scope and objectives.
• Perform monthly revenue analysis (WIP, backlog, revenue recognition) and communicate results to PICs/PMs.
• Manage project invoicing with accuracy and timeliness; coordinate with clients and internal teams.
• Ensure budgets and cost estimates are forecast and uploaded into the system.
• Drive cost reduction, margin maximisation, and effective working capital management.
• Support PICs/PMs to deliver projects successfully.
• Reconcile subcontractor/supplier statements.
• Assist with general accounting, project-related GL recs, and month-end duties.
• Assist in compiling quarterly and annual audit binders.
• Ensure reporting requirements and deadlines are met.
