Job summary

Amida Group on the Gold Coast seeks an experienced Project Engineer or Project Manager to support the delivery of a $200m+ high-rise residential project and other works for a growing head contractor.

The role requires planning, coordination and on-site leadership to ensure safety, timeliness and budget adherence across multiple stakeholders in the Gold Coast/Brisbane/Sunshine Coast market.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-15+ years' experience ideally working on high rise residential projects
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the planning, coordination and execution of construction works
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers and consultants on site
• Monitoring construction programs, procurement schedules and project milestones
• Reviewing construction drawings, shop drawings and technical documentation
• Resolving technical issues and contributing to value engineering initiatives
• Overseeing quality control across site activities
• Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and statutory requirements
• Supporting site safety systems, inspections and reporting
• Supporting project reporting, progress claims and cost tracking
• Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Assisting the Project Manager with day-to-day project administration as required

Our client is a construction head contractor and as a result of continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Project Engineer and Project Manager to join their team to work on a $200m+ high-rise residential project amongst others.

The candidate will ideally have some experience working on head contractor side on 20+ storey high rise residential projects in the Gold Coast / Brisbane / Sunshine Coast market with local knowledge. They will also look at candidates without local experience too ideally looking with high rise residential experience.

As Project Engineer or Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of projects from construction through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to their quality standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Project Delivery & Site Coordination

• Assisting with the planning, coordination and execution of construction works
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers and consultants on site
• Monitoring construction programs, procurement schedules and project milestones
• Reviewing construction drawings, shop drawings and technical documentation
• Resolving technical issues and contributing to value engineering initiatives

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Overseeing quality control across site activities
• Ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and statutory requirements
• Supporting site safety systems, inspections and reporting

Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination

• Supporting project reporting, progress claims and cost tracking
• Building strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Assisting the Project Manager with day-to-day project administration as required

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar
• Minimum 5-15+ years' experience ideally working on high rise residential projects
• Strong Queensland market knowledge would be ideal
• Understanding of the Local and State building codes and WHS requirements
• Strong project financial reporting skills
• Strategic thinker who is able to see the bigger picture
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site operations
• Proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
