Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a global oil and gas terminals business to recruit a Project Engineer for their Sydney-based terminal at Port Botany. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers exposure to major CAPEX projects and a path to permanent employment.

You will lead process design and feasibility testing, manage project schedules and budgets, and enforce HSSE standards including Permit to Work and Job Safety Analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Civil/Structural).
• Industrial experience in heavy facilities (oil & gas, terminals).
• Proven CAPEX project execution experience.
• Strong familiarity with industrial assets (storage tanks, piping, pumps, rotating equipment).
• Solid scheduling, costing, and HSE interpretation skills.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design and feasibility testing.
• Conduct field inspections for projects.
• Execute deliverables against the project management plan.
• Track commitments and actual costs against budget.
• Enforce Permit to Work and Job Safety Analyses.
• Aim for zero critical technical punches or system failures.
