Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Engineer in Melbourne to lead design, delivery, commissioning and ongoing support of industrial refrigeration systems and process equipment. You will drive technical solutions and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams on complex projects.

The role requires hands-on project delivery experience, strong engineering fundamentals, FAT/SAT/comissioning exposure, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement within Australia’s standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial refrigeration, compression, or process engineering.
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and process cooling systems desirable.
• Experience delivering projects from concept to commissioning.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed engineering calculations and design solutions for refrigeration systems.
• Develop estimates and proposals for capital projects.
• Prepare technical tender submissions per client specs and deadlines.
• Coordinate resources and manage procurement, scheduling and cost control.
• Conduct safety reviews and ensure compliance with standards.
• Support FATs, SATs, commissioning, and performance verification.
