Job summary

UGL Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Electrical for the Transgrid Synchronous Condenser project in regional NSW. You will support design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning across this critical power infrastructure program.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors and suppliers to drive technical outcomes, maintain schedule and cost objectives, and ensure compliance with safety and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in project engineering or related disciplines.
• Experience across design, construction and commissioning in major infrastructure projects.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving capabilities.
• Knowledge of quality systems and project documentation requirements.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Ability to travel to project sites and remote locations.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence & Construction White Card.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering activities for electrical project design, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Provide technical guidance to subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support project planning, procurement, ITPs and procedures.
• Monitor progress with project delivery teams to meet schedule and cost objectives.

Join a nationally significant energy infrastructure project and play a key role in the delivery of the Transgrid Synchronous Condenser project in regional NSW. We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Electrical to support the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning activities across this critical power infrastructure project. This role offers the opportunity to work with a high-performing project team while contributing to Australia's energy transition.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide engineering and project coordination support to ensure safe, efficient and compliant project delivery. You will work closely with construction teams, designers, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders to drive technical outcomes and maintain project performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering activities to support the design, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical project works.
• Provide technical guidance to subcontractors and suppliers while resolving engineering issues across the project lifecycle.
• Support project planning, procurement, quality documentation, ITPs and project-specific procedures.
• Monitor project progress and collaborate with project delivery teams to achieve schedule and cost objectives.
• Identify and manage project risks while maintaining compliance with safety, quality and project management systems.

About You

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 2 years' experience in project engineering or related engineering disciplines.
• Experience across design, construction and commissioning environments on major infrastructure, utilities, energy or industrial projects.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving capabilities.
• Knowledge of quality systems and project documentation requirements.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Ability to travel and work across project and remote site locations as required.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence & Construction White Card
