Job summary

Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV) is seeking experienced Project Engineers - Building, Trades & Works who are available to join from January 2027 in the Albury-Wodonga & Wagga Wagga region.

You will contribute to one of Australia’s largest Defence infrastructure programs, delivering facilities across AWMA, RBW and BBK, with subcontractor coordination and accountable delivery through planning to handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree or higher.
• About 5+ years’ project engineering experience in construction.
• Strong building construction background is essential.
• Experience managing subcontractors, trades and work packages.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Australian Citizenship or PR with Baseline Security Clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to deliver packages.
• Manage building work packages from planning through completion.
• Monitor cost, quality and programme performance.
• Resolve engineering and technical issues as they arise.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Promote a strong Zero Harm safety culture on site.

The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV), a partnership between CPB Contractors and Downer, is preparing for our next phase of project delivery and seeking experienced Project Engineers - Building, Trades & Works who are interested in joining our team from January 2027 onwards.

This is an opportunity to contribute to one of Australia's largest Defence infrastructure programs, delivering critical facilities across the Riverina region that will support Defence capability for decades to come.

About The Project

The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture is delivering approximately $1.7 billion in infrastructure upgrades and replacement works across key Defence establishments, including:

• Albury-Wodonga Military Area (AWMA)
• RAAF Base Wagga (RBW)
• Blamey Barracks Kapooka (BBK)

Project Scope Includes

• New accommodation and living-in facilities
• Training and mess facilities
• Building refurbishments and upgrades
• Major infrastructure and services upgrades

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in delivering building and construction work packages safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

We are particularly interested in speaking with Project Engineers who have experience across:

• Commercial building projects
• Defence infrastructure
• Accommodation and residential developments
• Education facilities
• Health and hospital projects
• Large-scale fitout programs
• Trades and finishing packages
• Facades, roofing and building envelopes
• Precast and structural works
• Commissioning and handover activities

You Will Be Responsible For

• Coordinating subcontractors and site teams
• Managing building work packages from planning through to completion
• Monitoring cost, quality and programme performance
• Resolving engineering and technical issues
• Ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards
• Driving a strong Zero Harm culture across the project

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

• Degree qualification in Engineering
• Approximately 5+ years' project engineering experience within the construction industry
• Strong building construction background
• Experience managing subcontractors, trades and work packages
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Strong commercial and delivery focus
• Proven ability to lead and mentor junior engineers
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
