Job summary

Purina, part of Nestlé, is looking for a Project Engineer to lead capital investment initiatives at the Blayney site. You will design, implement and start up projects, ensuring compliance with Nestlé standards and safety requirements.

You will report to the Project Manager, supervise technical teams and coordinate contractors to achieve on-time, within-budget project delivery and smooth handover to operations.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or advanced trade qualifications.
• 5+ years Industrial Project Management experience.
• Personnel supervision of technical teams, contractors or other 3rd parties.
• Participation in the development and delivery of engineering capital projects.
• Participation in the start-up of technical equipment and/or production lines.
• Exposure to TPM, Preventive Maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution.

Responsibilities

• Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations, the defined User Requirements Specifications and the TPM characteristics.
• Consider the safety of both the operators and workers during operation and installation respectively.
• Ensure that the engineering side of the project is implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality.
• Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that Nestlé standards are applied.
• Support the End-to-End Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in developing the investment project charter and ensure that it is strictly followed throughout the project.
• Support the start-up manager and their team to ensure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Project Engineer to join the Engineering team in our Blayney Factory. This role will Manage and/or perform the design, implementation and start-up phases of capital investment projects on the manufacturing site, within the defined scope of responsibility or specialisation. Ensure that the objectives of the investment project charter, design specifications and Nestlé standards are implemented and adhered to.

A day in the life…

Reporting to the Project Manager, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

What Will Make You Successful

• Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong professional with a drive to deliver quality outcomes.
• Engineering degree or advanced trade qualifications.
• 5+ years Industrial Project Management experience, preferably in FMCG industry.
• Personnel Supervision of technical teams, contractors or other 3rd parties.
• Participation in the development and delivery of engineering capital projects as part of a multidisciplinary team (including Production, Quality, Logistics, Safety and Finance).
• Participation in the start-up of technical equipment and/or production lines.
• Self-Management following defined KPIs/Objectives and proactively tracking them.
• Exposure to TPM, Preventive Maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution.
• Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and a proven capacity to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
