Job summary

Durack Civil is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our delivery team. The role supports FIFO and DIDO operations across regional Queensland and Northern New South Wales, delivering road, bridge and transport infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will plan, coordinate and deliver projects safely, on time and within budget, with ownership of your work and close collaboration with seasoned professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a Project Engineer in civil construction.
  • Current Driver Licence and Construction White Card.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and project delivery.
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors, procurement and project costs.
  • Ability to work independently in regional project environments.
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the successful delivery of civil construction projects from award through to completion.
  • Coordinate project planning, programming and daily project activities.
  • Manage procurement, subcontractors and supplier relationships.
  • Monitor project costs, production and forecasting.
  • Prepare monthly reporting, progress claims and project documentation.
  • Implement and maintain project quality systems, ITPs and compliance requirements.
  • Support site teams to achieve safety, quality and programme objectives.
  • Mentor Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers.
  • Assist with project methodology development and construction planning.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with client specifications and company systems.
  • Support tendering and project handovers as required.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of regional infrastructure projects, Durack Civil is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our delivery team.

This role will primarily support FIFO and DIDO project operations across regional Queensland and Northern New South Wales, working on a range of road, bridge, flood restoration and civil infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating and delivering projects safely, on time and within budget. This position offers a hands‑on project delivery environment where you'll have genuine ownership of your work and the opportunity to work closely with experienced industry professionals.
